Members of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees will be convening in Erie for their annual convention Sunday through Wednesday. More than 300 people are expected to attend the event, which is being held at the Ambassador Center. The organization’s chapters from Crawford County, Erie County, Venango County, and Warren/Forest Counties, is hosting this year’s convention.

In addition to sessions dealing with the business of the organization, attendees, many of whom have never traveled to the Erie area, will have an opportunity to tour Presque Isle, downtown Erie, or the northeast wineries or compete in a golf tournament.

PASR is a statewide organization whose membership includes anyone who has ever worked in Pennsylvania’s public schools: bus drivers, cafeteria personnel, custodial/maintenance workers, school nurses, secretaries, school administrators, and teachers. PASR’s purpose is to provide opportunities for retirees to keep active through serving their communities and participating in social events with other public school retirees.
