Meadville’s Channellock signs 2-year contract with union

Meadville’s Channellock Inc. has come to terms with United Steel Workers Local 1917-3, which represents the company’s 262 unionized workers.

The company and the union, neither have which have released terms of the two-year agreement, have been working since Feb. 10 under the terms of an expired contract, according to an Associated Press Report.

The company has about 360 total employees, making it Crawford County’s largest industrial employer and the county’s eighth largest employer overall.

The family-owned company, founded in 1886, is well known for its line of blue-handled pliers which are sold around the world.
