Cheddar’s Casual Cafe, a new restaurant being built in Millcreek Marketplace on Interchange Road, is due to open March 19.
Larry Heim, a York lawyer who is handling the liquor license application for the Texas-based restaurant chain, said construction is expected to be complete by Feb. 20 and that hiring will begin at that time.
The restaurant, which will seat up to 328 people, is expected to employ about 60 people. The 8,500-square-foot building is located west of O’Charley’s.
Cheddar’s, which began in Arlington, Texas, in 1974, operates 70 restaurants, including one other Pennsylvania location in York.
Most of the chain’s restaurants are located in the South and the Midwest.
The company’s website says that its goal is “to be a great restaurant that serves quality fresh food from the kitchen in a friendly, comfortable environment at a fair price.”
