Erie’s Werner Books to mark 200th birthday of Charles Dickens
Have you been looking for an opportunity to dress up like Ebenezer Scrooge or maybe bust out those opening lines you’ve memorized from “A Tale of Two Cities?”
Today is your day. Werner Books in the Liberty Plaza will celebrate Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The bookstore, located at 3514 Liberty St., will be serving up tea and scones, encouraging customers to dress in period costumes and offering discounts on some of Dickens’ books.
Bookstore owner Gayle Werner said she’s also planning to have a reading of some of the author’s work.
