Wegmans to hold prices on 62 products through Aug. 25

Wegmans on Sunday rolled out its revised list of products the grocery store chain will freeze the price on through the end of August.

There are some seasonal additions as well as holdovers from the grocer’s winter list. For example, frozen ice cream sandwiches are new; frozen pizza stays on. Also, cough and cold remedies are off, but allergy medications and sunscreen are new to the list.

Wegmans, which has two stores in Erie County, has 62 items on the list – ranging from bananas at 39 cents a pound to a club pack of Italian sausage links at $2.99 pound. It includes such things as condiments, hot dog and hamburger rolls, marinated chicken breast, littleneck clams, and fresh salad greens. The list is almost exclusively made up of Wegmans brand products, because Wegmans can be more aggressive with pricing for its own brand.
