Family First plots course for the future

A Memorial Day tradition continues this weekend. For the 17th year in a row, a major soccer tournament will be played in Erie County.

But for the first time in all those years, that tournament will be played at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, not at Family First Sports Park.

Family First owner Glen Renaud, who recently took control of park operations from an outside management company, said local residents shouldn’t read too much into the departure of the soccer tournament.

In fact, Renaud said the park is operating under a new business model and he’s more confident than ever of its future success.

See Saturday’s Saturday’s Erie Times-News and GoErie.com for more coverage.
