Corry woman collects grocery grand prize
Diane Vance, of Corry, was expected to walk out of the Peach Street Wegmans this afternoon with a $5,000 gift card in her pocket.
The $5,000, the estimated amount a typical household spends on groceries each year, was one of four grand prizes in a contest sponsored by a farm group called Mid-Atlantic Farmers Feed Us.
Vance’s name was chosen at random from 223,000 online entries submitted in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
As part of the entry process, contestants had a chance to learn more about 10 farmers from the Mid-Atlantic region and to take a video tour of their farms.
Vance’s prize was presented by Spartansburg dairy farmer Christine Cooney.
