Lord Corp. to move 30 to 40 office jobs to North Carolina

Lord Corp. confirmed this afternoon that the company will move between 30 and 40 office positions to company headquarters in Cary, N.C.

The move comes as the company is moving ahead with plans to expand local employment while consolidating its two Erie locations on Grandview Road and West 12th Street into a single facility in Summit Township.

The company, which employs nearly 800 people in Erie County, remains committed to those plans, said Dawn Astorino, a spokeswoman for Lord.

“This is very typical that we move positions back and forth between Cary and Erie,” she said.

The move, expected to take place in late spring or early summer 2013, would move the remainder of the company’s finance employees to North Carolina, along with some employees in credit and collections and information technology.

All those affected by the planned move will be given the opportunity to relocate or the option of applying for another position in Erie.

Financial assistance will be offered to those who decide to move, she said.
