Scott Enterprises was given July’s Excel Award by County Executive Barry Grossman.
The award is given monthly to a company that does “something outside the box,” Grossman said.
For Scott Enterprises, which owns Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, that bigger thinking was reflected in the purchase earlier this year of Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa.
“They now have the money, manpower and experience to work outside the area and yet they continue to invest in the area,” Grossman said.
He also lauded Scott Enterprises for its community programs and its support of local nonprofits, including the American Red Cross, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the American Heart Association.
