The Erie area’s first Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt franchise, where customers will mix, weigh and then pay by the ounce for their yogurt treats, will host a grand opening celebration this weekend at 6825 Peach St.

The shop, located where the CD Warehouse used to be, opened a few days ago. This weekend the store will be offering gift bags, pictures with Menchie balloon animals and, of course, the frozen yogurt.

Menchie’s is open from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
