John Gremp, the chairman and chief executive of FMC Technologies, will be in Erie Tuesday to meet with employees of FMC Technologies Measurement Solutions.
Gremp, who is making his first trip to Erie as the company’s chief executive, will also be involved in the dedication of a new FMC Technologies engineering design center, a free-standing, $500,000 facility that will be staffed by interns from Penn State Behrend’s school of engineering.
About 12 students a year are expected to work there.
The company’s investment in Erie comes during a period of growth for FMC.
The company, which has more than 16,000 employees in 16 countries, expects to hire 8,000 more people in the next five years.
Gremp plans to talk with employees about FMC’s long-term growth strategy.
