No immediate changes expected for HealthAmerica clients

HealthAmerica members shouldn’t expect any short-term changes in their health insurance after Aetna announced plans to buy Coventry Health Care, HealthAmerica’s parent company.
“There will be no immediate impact,” said Coventry spokeswoman Kristina Grow.
Aetna’s proposed $5.7 billion cash-and-stock acquisition of Coventry will bolster its Medicaid enrollment months before millions of uninsured Americans are expected to become eligible for coverage through that state-federal program as part of President Barack Obama’s massive health care overhaul.
