Two shale gas events planned for Thursday near Corry

A protest against shale drilling and an informational meeting are planned for Thursday near Corry.
The protest will be held at 9 a.m. at Bear Lake Fire Hall on North Center Street in Bear Lake. An organizer called Wednesday to say he and others are concerned about frack water being put into two injection wells near Corry.
In a related event, Penn Environment is sponsoring an informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corry High School, 534 E. Pleasant St. A spokeswoman for Penn Environment said they would discuss shale gas drilling, pollution concerns and other issues. There’s no charge for the event.
