Ugly Tuna Tavern replaces Backyard Burgers

Say goodbye to Backyard Burgers.

And get ready for the Ugly Tuna Tavern.

About a month after Backyard Burgers closed its doors at 1010 Peninsula Drive, renovations are being completed for a new tavern and restaurant in the same building.

The restaurant, owned by brothers Marc and Mike Mazzocco, will feature a full menu, with emphasis on fresh seafood, steak and burgers.

Renovations are expected to take another week or so, but the business won’t open until it’s been given the OK by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Marc Mazzocco, who is also the co-owner of Doc Holiday’s on Schultz Road, said the business will feature big screen televisions, an outdoor patio and live musical entertainment.

For more information, or to check on the restaurant’s opening date, call 835-6667.
