Erie’s Rectenwald Architects acquired by Cleveland firm

Rectenwald Architects, an Erie firm that is currently designing a new lobby for UPMC Hamot and new operating rooms for Saint Vincent Health Center, will soon have a new name.

The firm and its 12 employees have been acquired by Bostwick Design Partnership, which is based in Cleveland.

The deal was completed Wednesday. Terms were not released.

Ross Rectenwald, president of Rectenwald Architects, said his intent is to stay in Erie and grow the business into eastern Pennsylvania and western New York.

“This gives us the ability to get extra support,” he said. That, in turn, will help the Erie office expand.

The name Rectenwald Architects will eventually be replaced by Bostwick Design Partnership. “It won’t happen immediately, but it will eventually,” Rectenwald said.
