Just to follow up on a story we wrote in early November: A Waterford car dealership has sold a rare 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 coupe, the same make and model of car featured in the “Back to the Future” trilogy.

The Humes Chrysler Jeep Dodge & Ram dealership sold the car to Tom Huckelberry of Naples, Fla., said Matt Clark, general manager. Huckelberry, who owns five other DeLoreans, paid $32,400 for the car, Clark said.

Huckelberry was one of four serious bidders; other bidders came from England, California and Indiana, Clark said.

Clark said he was sad to see the car go.

“It was a novelty,” he said. “It was fun to have around.”
