Erie-made biodiesel at center of news investigation

A shipment of biodiesel fuel made in part in Erie by Hero BX is at the center of a recent investigation by CBC News in Canada.

The network’s Dec. 3 story focused not on the fuel itself, but on unexplained shipments of biodiesel tanker cars that were sent back and forth between Canada and the U.S. but were never unloaded.

The shipper, CN Rail, reportedly stood to make $2.6 million for the effort.

Company President Mike Noble could not be reached for comment late Friday afternoon.
