Conneaut Lake Park asked to address $850,000 tax bill

The trustees of Conneaut Lake Park are slowly whittling away at a local tax bill that’s been growing for years.

But a the current pace — paying $1,000 a year — progress can’t even be charted on a bill that tops $850,000 and grows each year with penalties and interest payments.

Crawford County Commissioners would like that to change and say they’re going to press trustees of the publicly owned amusement park to submit a plan for paying down the park’s debt.

At a work session Tuesday, Crawford County Treasurer Christine Krzysiak said trustees did not submit a plan for paying their taxes during a Jan. 8 meeting. Now, commissioners are giving trustees until Feb. 7 to submit a plan.
