Former Erie official Rebecca Martin returns to PA

Rebecca Martin, the former chief operating officer of the Jefferson Educational Society in Erie, is returning to Pennsylvania after a stint with the Chamber of Commerce in Austin, Texas.

Martin, who previously held key posts with the with the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority and with the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, has been named executive director of the Wexford Chamber of Commerce.

Wexford is an affluent, unincorporated community in Allegheny County, north of Pittsburgh.

Martin, who also spent about a year as president of the Ludington, Mich., Chamber of Commerce, returned to Erie to work at the Jefferson Society.

She left Erie and the Jefferson Society to work in Austin, where she served as senior vice president of the chamber.

At one time, Martin had served as president of the Erie School Board.
