Erie-area college students will have a pair of opportunities to pass out résumés and meet with prospective employers this week. Career fairs are being sponsored Wednesday at Penn State Behrend and Thursday at Mercyhurst University.
Penn State Behrend will host its career fair from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Junker Center.
▀ The fair is open to students from any Erie County college or university. About 800 students are expected.
▀ About 150 companies have registered for the event. All but three have immediate openings to fill.
▀ Students in the areas of business, marketing, management, accounting and finance are especially in demand, according to organizers of the event.
Mercyhurst University will host its career fair Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. in the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
▀ Participants are encouraged to dress professionally, carry copies of their résumés and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.
▀ Between 75 and 100 employers are expected to be on hand.
▀ Kyle Foust, director of the school’s career development center, said the fair is a good opporunity for underclassmen to better understand their future opportunities.
