PNC Bank to close East 38th St. branch in Erie

Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. has confirmed plans to close one of its Erie locations.

Letters have been or will be sent to customers of the PNC branch at 1915 E. 38th St. to announce the branch will close on June 21, said Marcey Zwiebel, a spokeswoman for PNC. Although customers may bank at any PNC location, customer accounts are being transferred to the PNC branch at 3830 Pine Avenue, she said.

The bank, which operates in 19 states and the District of Columbia, had announced plans earlier this year to close about 200 branch offices.
