You want romantic?

You can take your late-night walk through the streets of Paris, a carriage ride through Central Park or even a moonlight gondola voyage through the canals of Venice.

But for a real kisses-and-hugs good time, think about a stroll down State Street in Erie.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Erie has once again won a place on’s list of the most romantic cities in the United States.
Erie checks in at No. 15 on the list, right after Salem, Ore. and right before Everett, Wash.

Those rankings beg the question — what makes a city romantic?
The folks at Amazon think they have it figured out. They base their rankings on the sale of romance novels and relationship books, romantic comedy movies, the sales of music by artists such as Dean Martin, Barry White and Luther Vandross, and the sale of sexual wellness products.

No word on exactly what folks in Erie are buying to rank so high on this list.

The top spot on the list belongs to Knoxville, Tenn. Pittsburgh, incidentally, checks in at No. 10.

Finally, Amazon ranks Boise, Idaho as the least romantic city in the United States.
