Kathy S. wrote in to say, “I think Erie has a bumper crop of amazing church and organization rummage sales and bargain-priced yard sales. I can’t wait for the ‘season’ to start.”
She’s right and it looks like it has.
Rummage, next-to-new and garage sales can be great places to find used items that you need or want for little cost. I still have a set of steak knives that I bought at a garage sale when I moved into my first apartment in the early 1990s. They were practically new and while I don’t remember the exact price I paid, I know it was only a few bucks, way less than they would have cost in a store.
Starting tomorrow, Lawrence Park United Methodist Church, 4015 Niagara Place, Lawrence Park Township, is running a three-day rummage sale. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday is 50-cent bag day from 9 a.m. noon. Call 899-9851 to learn more.
On Saturday, Eastminster Presbyterian Church’s women will hold their annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 2320 East Lake Road, Lawrence Park. Call 455-7819.
What’s the best bargain you ever found at a rummage or yard sale?

As far as rummage sales go – the one at Lawrence Park United Methodist Church is a great one! Sure, as the pastor I am supposed to say that…but it REALLY IS!!! Come one out and see us!
