Celebrating Pa.’s state parks

Photographer Christopher Rolinson, who created the book “Our State Parks,” will give a free talk Saturday at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.

The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the center, 301 Peninsula Drive. The program includes Rolinson’s talk about his book, a guided tour through an accompanying photography exhibit at the Ridge Center and viewing of the film “The Life of Maurice K. Goddard” on the Big Green Screen.

Goddard, a former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters, was the driving force behind the creation of Pennsylvania’s state park system, according to a news release.
