Mercyhurst University’s Department of Athletics is celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Saturday.

Girls in kindergarten through grade 12 get free admission to the celebratory event, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Mercyhurst Ice Center and includes food and beverages.

Girls also will have the chance to try to on equipment and uniforms from the women’s sports at the Erie school.

A women’s ice hockey game follows at 7 p.m. between Mercyhurst and Niagara University.
