Tonight is the first of 2012′s special evening pontoon rides at Presque Isle State Park.

The rides are offered Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Because seating is limited and the boat rides are so popular, sign-ups begin each Monday at 10 a.m. and you can only make a reservation for rides that week. Call (814) 833-7424 for a reservation.

If you can’t get a seat on an evening tour, you can always try one of the daytime rides. They run Thursday through Sunday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The daytime rides are first-come, first-served, with sign-up starting at 10 a.m. each day at the pontoon station near Graveyard Pond.

All rides are free.
