Rib festival features free admission, music

Today is the first day of Erie’s Wild Rib Cook Off & Musical Festival, which continues daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday in downtown Erie’s Perry Square.

Like many local festivals, this one has a mixture of freebies and things that will cost you cash.

If you want to eat or ride, you will have to pay. But you can find a coupon, good for today through Friday, for $1 off a $12 ride pass for the Rib Kidz Fun Zone.

Among the freebies are music each day through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Raffles and drawings include a free one for a whole roasted pig.

Visit www.erieribfest.com to learn more or find the coupon.
