Circle the Thursdays in June on your calendar and write in the words “block party.”

June 7, 14, 21 and 28 are this month’s dates for the Erie Downtown Partnership’s summer Block Parties. The events also will be held July 5, 12 and 26 and Aug. 2, 9 and 23, all at 6 p.m. Admission is free. You have to pay if you want to eat or drink.

Each party, featuring live music, is outside a different downtown establishment. The first will be at Sluggers Sports Bar, 14 E. 10th St., and feature Open Island and Stiletto, according to the partnership’s website.
