Curious critters featured in free program for families

How do butterflies drink? Why do frogs sing?

You and your kids can learn the answers to those kinds of questions at “Curious Critters,” a free program this week at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 301 Peninsula Drive. The event will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Author and photographer David FitzSimmons and Presque Isle State Park staff will share information about common North American animals. The program will include storytime, take-home activities for children and puppets, organizers said. FitzSimmons also will talk about his new picture book, “Curious Critters.”
