Free music fills weekend in Erie area

If you’re looking to hear live music for free, there are plenty of places around the Erie area to do so this weekend. Here are a few:

Erie Chamber Orchestra concert, today, 7:30 p.m., First United Methodist Church in Erie, 707 Sassafras St. Cellist Edward Arron is the featured soloist. Call (814) 871-7755.

Open Stage Night, today, 7-9 p.m., Erie Art Museum, 411 State St. Singers, musicians, dancers and other artists can present two selections or 8 minutes of material with sign-up starting at 6 p.m. Visit www.erieartmuseum.org.

Romolo Chocolates 2012 Music Series, Saturdays through Aug. 18 except for Aug. 4, 1525 W. Eighth St. This week hear the hardbop jazz of Dave Callaghan and Hardbop on the outdoor piazza. Visit www.romolochocolates.com.
