Variety of free concerts taking place today

You can hear symphonic singers, a community band and jazz music in three separate free performances today in the Erie area. Unfortunately, they are all in different places and two of them are at the same time, with the third starting only an hour later, so it would be nearly impossible to catch all three.

The Symphonic Singers of Erie will give a spring concert at 3 p.m. at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road. Call (814) 774-8425.

The Millcreek Area Community Band’s concert will also begin at 3, at McDowell Intermediate High School, 3320 Caughey Road. Call (814) 825-0970.

The Kate Buczek Memorial Jazz Concert, featuring Mary Alice Brown and the Charles Ventrello Quartet, will start at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, 7180 Perry Highway. Call (814) 923-1155.
