Free tours teach garden knowledge

Ever wondered what all those plants are growing around the Tom Ridge Environmental Center?

You can learn about them, and how to incorporate the native plants into your own garden, during free monthly garden tours. The events will be led by the center’s garden coordinator, Jen Salem.

One will take place today at 10:30 a.m. at the Ridge Center, 301 Peninsula Drive. Future tours will take place Aug. 11, Sept. 8 and Oct. 6. Organizers said to meet in front of the building and the tours will last a little more than an hour.
