Energy analysis brings freebies

Several people have mentioned to me that they received freebies in the mail like energy-saving light bulbs and power strips through Penelec/FirstEnergy’s Home Energy Analyzer. One person estimated the value of everything she received at about $50.

Go to https://www.firstenergycorp.com/content/customer/save_energy/save_energy_pennsylvania/for_your_home/pa_home_energy_analyzer.html

The site says that Pennsylvania customers who complete the home profile will receive an Energy Conservation Kit by mail.

First you have to register for an online account. Make sure to have your Penelec account number handy because you’ll have to enter it. Registration took me about 2 minutes.

Then you have to complete a home profile by supplying information like the number of rooms you have, the heat source, etc. This took maybe 6 or 7 minutes.

To complete the home profile by phone, call (888) 866-1042.
