Happy Labor Day

Want to celebrate the unofficial end of summer without spending your last dime?

If you’re one of the lucky people who doesn’t have to work today, here are some things to do:

Take the kids, or the dog, to your local park and toss around a ball or Frisbee. Admission to Presque Isle State Park and it’s Tom Ridge Environmental Center are always free.

Dig through the closet for a deck of cards, the Monopoly board or any other game that you haven’t played in ages. Do you still recall the rules?

Remember that book you’ve been meaning to start reading? How about the DVD you bought and haven’t had time to watch? Or maybe you want to catch up on blog posts you’ve missed. ;-)   Now’s the time. (If you’re looking for free e-books, check out last week’s Cheap in Erie posts on that topic.)

However you spend it, enjoy your holiday.
