The Erie Maritime Museum will host a free showing this weekend of “The War of 1812.”

The movie will be screened Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hirt Auditorium at the museum, 150 E. Front St., to open its speaker/events series.

Some of the scenes in the 2009 PBS documentary were filmed aboard the U.S. Brig Niagara and include her crew and museum living history interpreters, according to the museum’s web site.
