Check out local colleges for free lectures

A couple Erie County colleges are offering free lectures this week.

The first is tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Mercyhurst University in Taylor Little Theatre. Theologian, scientist and Franciscan Sister Ilia Delio will speak on “Faith and the Cosmos: Exploration into God, Evolution and the Mystery of the Universe.” To learn more, call (814) 824-3015 or e-mail msnyder@mercyhurst.edu.

The second is Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in the Alfred Stone Intergenerational Center for the Performing Arts. Retired professor James LoPresto will speak on “The Standard Model and String Theory.” To learn more, visit www.edinboro.edu.
