Experience ‘Thanksgiving on the Isle’

I’ve seen a turkey at Presque Isle State Park, but never come across a cranberry there.

A free program this weekend will talk about the birds and the berries.

“Thanksgiving on the Isle” will be presented by an environmental educator on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The two-part program will begin at the Tom Ridge Environment Center, 301 Peninsula Drive, with a presentation on the natural history of turkeys. Participants will then head off for a 2-mile walk through the peninsula’s interior trails to look for turkeys and learn the history of the park’s Cranberry Day celebration.
