When I’m wrapping presents, I always end up with bits of paper I’ve snipped off because I didn’t need quite that much for a particular package.
I never throw out those pieces until I’m all done wrapping.
Often, I’ll find that one of those pieces is the perfect size for covering another gift. The bits and pieces of paper are especially good for wrapping small presents, like gift cards.
In a pinch once when I was out of tissue paper for my very last package, I crinkled up the leftover little pieces of wrapping paper and used them to cushion the gift in the box before wrapping it with a larger piece of paper.
My mother used to put the small pieces of paper in folders that she kept in the attic with her wrapping paper. Some of those pieces waited one or two Christmases for a gift small enough to cover.
