Reader shares successful Christmas shopping tale

Priscilla Cochran e-mailed me today to share her super tale of post-Christmas bargain shopping, which she finished Tuesday and resulted in her getting a decorated tree for less than $3.50. Like me, she receives periodic e-mails from Christmas Tree Shops and Tuesday’s announced that selected ornaments, tree skirts, toppers, wreaths, baskets and decor are now 90 percent off original prices.

Here’s what Priscilla had to say:

“I have been looking for mini ornaments. After Christmas I found a 2-foot pre-lit tree at Wal-Mart that had been reduced from $15 down to $2.50 and wanted ornaments for it. I had been checking several stores for the mini ornaments with no luck. Yesterday after the rain quit I went to the Christmas Tree store to see if they might have any left. I got two 40-count packages for $.30 each.”

Way to go, Priscilla!
