Priscilla Cochran sent me the following link to sign up for a MyPanera member card at Panera Bread.
https://account.panerabread.com/MyPanera/ReverseRegistration.action
From the site, you can print out a temporary card or, if you don’t have a printer, write down your card number and take it to a Panera Bread to get your permanent plastic card.
Priscilla says, “When you trade your temporary card for a plastic card you will receive a free pastry. Then every time you make a purchase they swipe your card. You will randomly receive discounts or freebies that will be loaded on your card.”
I also noticed that when filling out the card form, you have to put your birthday month and day. The site says that info is “required to receive your birthday bonus,” which suggests an annual reward.
If you have a tip to share like Priscilla did, e-mail it to me at dana.massing@timesnews.com. In honor of Cheap in Erie’s second anniversary on Jan. 31, I have a $25 Visa gift card to give away to one lucky person who sends me something for the blog by Feb. 28 at noon Eastern time.
Send me your favorite way of saving money, a link to an online freebie or coupon you found, word of a great deal you spotted at a store, restaurant or other site or some other way of spending wisely.
I’ll share your tips with readers throughout February, giving you credit, of course. Then I’ll randomly pick one person who submitted a tip and that person will get the gift card. Be sure to include your name and your e-mail address with your tip so I know whom to give credit to and so I can reach you if you’re the winner.
