Still washing and brushing for free

At the end of today I’ll have made it through two months of washing my hair and brushing my teeth for free.

On March 1, I began using numerous small bottles and packets of shampoo and tubes of toothpaste I had received in previous months through sample offers. Since then, I’ve received a couple more and I should be able to make it at least to mid-May before I have to buy any shampoo or toothpaste.

If I’m lucky, some more bottles and tubes that I requested will arrive in the meantime and I can go even longer.

I did just request a free sample of toothpaste and try to win a shampoo and conditioner pack but the toothpaste won’t arrive for four to six weeks and I’m not sure if I’m a winner yet. Here’s how you can do both:

To request a sample of Arm & Hammer Sensitive Toothpaste, go to http://byebyetoothpain.com. The site says the offer is for one per household while supplies last.

To try to win one of 300 Head & Shoulders prize packs, which contain Damage Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner plus a compact mirror with a total value of $14.81, go to www.facebook.com/headandshouldersforwomen and click on “Instant Win.” You have to “like” the page and complete a quick five-question quiz first. You can enter once per day through June 30.

If you hear of any other shampoo or toothpaste offers that would help me extend my freebie streak, send the details in an e-mail to dana.massing@timesnews.com. I promise to share the info with everyone.
