Wildlife refuge hosts free bird programs

The Erie National Wildlife Refuge in Guys Mills will be the site of two free bird events Saturday.

Audubon Pennsylvania is sponsoring bird walks there with expert birders as guides on Saturday and on May 4, 18 and 25 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. This weekend’s event will be led by Chris Lundberg. For more information, call (814) 333-1170.

On Saturday evening, the refuge will be the site of an “Owl Prowl” program at 6:30 p.m. that will take people out into the woods to learn about the birds. Call (814) 789-3585 for more information about this program.
