Donation brings free wings at Quaker Steak

Monday is National Chicken Wing Day and Quaker Steak & Lube is celebrating.

If you donate a nonperishable item at a participating restaurant, you will receive a voucher for a free “sprinster” six-piece serving of wings redeemable on Monday. The donated items will be given to charities like Erie City Mission.

“Quaker Steak & Lube’s National Chicken Wing Day promotion is a unique opportunity for us to give back to our loyal Lubies while they give back to the communities,” John Longstreet, Quaker Steak’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

Some sites, such as the Sharon restaurant, will let you donate your item and get your voucher any day through Monday, although you can only redeem the voucher on Monday, according to a news release. When I called the Erie restaurant, I was told they were only taking the donations and giving the vouchers on Monday.

To learn more, call your local Quaker Steak & Lube or visit its Facebook site. To find restaurant locations, go to
