November events at Werner Books include contest for kids

With November here, Werner Books has a couple free events going on.

Throughout the month, there’s a holiday-themed bookmark art contest for children in prekindergarten through eighth grade. The winner in each of three age groups will receive a $25 gift certificate, officials said. More information is available at the store at 3514 Liberty St.

On Saturday, Werner Books will host a free book signing by Joshua Dubler, assistant professor of religion at the University of Rochester and author of “Down in the Chapel: Religious Life in an American Prison,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. He’ll do a reading at noon.

To learn more, visit www.wernerbooks.com or call (814) 864-1565.
