Gannon University’s Erie Chamber Orchestra will present a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert.

The Erie Chamber Orchestra will hold its free annual Christmas concert and sing-along Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St.

The event will feature the Children’s Choir from the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul.

One of the neat things about silent movies was the music. It conveyed so much, from thrilling chases to tender moments.

Gannon University’s Erie Chamber Orchestra will present “An Evening of Silent Movie Music” tonight at 7 in Hirt Auditorium at Blasco Library, 160 E. Front St. The free performance will feature silent movie music from the early 1900s.

Gannon University’s Erie Chamber Orchestra kicks off its season Friday with a couple free events.

The opening night celebration will start with a violin master class by David Kim from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Gannon’s Schuster Theatre, 620 Sassafras St.

The opening night concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at McDowell Intermediate High School, 3320 Caughey Road, Millcreek Township.

Led by conductor Matthew Kraemer and featuring Kim, concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the concert will feature works by Mozart and Bizet and the world premiere of Shannon Wood’s “Battle of Put-In-Bay, from the War of 1812.”

Gannon University’s Erie Chamber Orchestra has a free concert coming up on Friday.

This month it’s “Bach, Brahms and Dvorak,” with guest conductor Chris Kim and violists Jennifer Jansen and Brian Walnicki.

The performance will take place Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Gannon’s Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel, 512 Peach St.
