I’ve talked before about saving on printer ink by previewing pages before you print so you don’t waste ink on pages you don’t need.

But even if you do that, you’ll still eventually need to buy more ink. If you do it this week at Office Max, you can get free batteries.

The store is offering a free 10-pack of Duracell AA batteries valued at $7.49 when you purchase two HP ink cartridges priced at $24.99 or more each through Saturday.

I’m not sure why you get batteries when you buy ink, but if you were planning on spending $50 for it anyway, the batteries are a nice bonus.

Visit www.officemax.com to find ink cartridge information.

If you own a computer printer, you know how quickly those ink cartridges get used up and how expensive they are to replace. One click of your mouse can save you money on ink and also on paper.

Before you hit “print,” click on “print preview” and look at all of your document.

I find that many times, I really only want to print the first few pages. When it’s a website or e-mail, the last page that prints is often a basic disclaimer or other information that I don’t need. By previewing before I print, I see how many pages are useful. Then I don’t waste ink and paper on the rest.

And speaking of printer cartridges, I know there are some places that will refill them for less than the cost of a new cartridge. Have any of you tried this? How has it worked out? I’d like to hear some feedback before doing it myself.
