Bait and tackle will be provided for children during a free fishing experience Saturday, the first day of trout season.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Waterworks area at Presque Isle State Park. The floating platform will be designated a kids-only fishing area. Non-fishing adults will be allowed to accompany children, organizers said.

The bait and equipment will be provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie and BAC Bait and Tackle.
