Before I even grabbed my first cup of coffee Monday morning, new shows rolled in: Red Hot Chili Peppers in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, the headliner for the Erie Summer Festival of the Arts and a Valentine’s Day weekend shot of soul.
The Chili Peppers will play Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on May 30 (a Wednesday). Tickets, $62.50 and $41.50, will go on sale Friday at Ticketmaster and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
They also play Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on June 2 (a Saturday). Tickets are $58.50 and $38.50 and go on sale Friday at www.livenation.com and by phone at (888) 894-9424.
No opener was announced for either date.
Sister Sledge, featuring Kathy Sledge, will headline the 44th annual Erie Summer Festival of the Arts on June 24 at Liberty Park. It’ll be a full production show that will feature their biggest hits, including “He’s the Greatest Dancer,” “Lost in Love,” and naturally, their unifying disco anthem “We Are Family.”
The Lovers Night Out show on Feb. 17 at the Avalon Hotel will feature Lenny Williams and his band, Christopher Williams, host Lil G from Silk and the Mike Austin Project. Lenny Williams sang with Tower of Power for two years (they hit it big with “So Very Hard to Go”) before he departed for a fruitful solo career (“Cause I Loved You,” “Midnight Girl.”)
Tickets are $25 advance, $35 at the door. VIP tickets are $45 advance, $55 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the Avalon, Dee’s Cigar Store, Sundance Records and One Stop Shop 1 and 2.
