New concerts: Chautauqua, Mayhem

Chautauqua Institution has added three more concerts for summer 2012: Under the Streetlamp (June 23), jazz superstar Diana Krall (July 6) and pop-country star kd lang (Aug.. 10).
They join an already impressive schedule that also includes Vince Gill (Aug. 17), Straight No Chaser (Aug.. 24) and Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow celebrating Peter, Paul & Mary (July 27).
Streetlamp features singers who starred in Broadway’s “Jersey Boys.” They run the gamut from do-wop to pop and rock hits. Krall reigns as one of the land’s finest jazz singers and her husband — Elvis Costello — played Chautauqua two years ago. lang , a four-time Grammy winner, is simply sublime; the kind of artist you can’t put in a box.
Tickets for all the above will go on sale in March.
More shows will be announced; the schedule still has a few holes.

Slipknot, Slayer, Anthrax and a rotation of As I Lay Dying,, Devil Wears Prada and Asking Alexandria will perform on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in summer 2012.
Another special guest will be added; the name will be announced March 5.
The tour will play Blossom Music Center near Cleveland on July 25, First Niagara Center near Pittsburgh on July 28, and Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, N.Y. on Aug. 1.
You have time to save money for tickets; they won’t go on sale until April.
