Roar on Shore ready to rock; Daughtry tour

Roar on the Shore officials announced the 2012 music lineup for the annual biker event and it’s heavy on rock and hair metal.
Great White, Slaughter and Kix will perform at the rally, set for July 19-21.
Great White arrives first, on July 19. In addition to songs such as “Once Bitten Twice Shy” and “Save Your Love” the rockers will forever be associated with the tragic Rhode Island fire in 2003 which killed 100 people in a nightclub and injured more than 200 others. The band had just started playing when their tour manager set off pyrotechnics that led to the fire. Great White played a benefit tour for victims and survivors just six months later.
Slaughter was one of hair metal’s more successful bands with Top 40 hits such as “Fly to the Angels” and “Up All Night.” They play July 20. Kix (“Don’t Close Your Eyes,” “Blow My Fuse”) will wrap it up on July 21.
Organizers expect more than 80,000 bikers and biker enthusiasts for the 2012 event.

Daughtry will opens its spring tour at Buffalo’s Shea’s Performing Arts Center on March 20. Other area dates: March 25 at Cleveland’s Palace Theatre and April 4 at Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center. Safety Suit and Mike Sanchez will open.
The Cleveland show goes on sale Friday at 11 a.m. at tickets.com and (888) 223-6000. On-sale dates for Pittsburgh and Buffalo have yet to be announced.

TNA Wrestling will return to Tullio Arena on March 25. No word on the card, yet, but tickets will go on sale Feb. 10.

Donna the Buffalo will open the Downtown Edinboro Art & Music Festival on May 17 at Culberton Hills. That date is posted on the band’s web site.
